Squirrel Scouts

Squirrels - 4 to 6 years

We’re starting a new provision for four and five year olds called Squirrels, to help young people gain skills for life at a time when it matters most and where it's most needed.

News & Blogs

Hi All,

Please remember Groups should all now be providing a marshal from each section to stand by the cones to slow cars coming in to Rhydd.

This is a safety measure to keep everyone safe and stated in the risk assessment.

The risk assessment can be found here under car parks - Risk Assessments – Rhydd Covert Scout Campsite

Risk Assessments – Rhydd Covert Scout Campsite

Risk Assessments Below are the Activity Risk Assessments for use on Rhydd Covert with our equipment. If you need any further information please email us on bookings@rhyddcovert.org.uk Air Pistol Shooting - Air Rifle Shooting - All Terrain Boards - Age - 10.5 upwards to use

www.rhyddcovert.org.uk

It does not have to be a leader, you can use a parent, but please ensure the adult stood there has a hi vis on.

We will be carrying spot checks out to ensure everyone is supplying a marshal on their section nights.

On some evenings there could be up to 6/8 marshals stood there, the more the better, do not leave it up to other groups to supply the marshal for you.

For all leaders cars that drive down to the lower site please remember the speed limit is 5mph on site.

Thank you for your support.

Yours in Scouting

Kathy

Little litter warriors and Wyre Forest scouts (organiser Mark Searl WF21) have joined the Kidderminster Bid project to help improve Kidderminster town centre. I have attached the area in question. We are looking for sections to get out and about in these areas to help us clean up but also somewhere different and educational to pick. The Kidderminster Bid has offered us donations however I’m leaving that part to Mark. I am running these sessions in Kidderminster and happy to join your group litter picks if can. This activity can then fall under fundraiser, community and part of environmental badge works. It would be great to know where you intend to pick too so that we can cover other areas that won’t have been picked.

Wyre Forest District council are working with me in making sure we have enough equipment to supply the demand. There are also wanting to be more efficient in helping our activity run smoothly. Here is a link to how you can report where you have left your litter filled bags. Reporting this after your pick will ensure a quick collection response. Community volunteer litter picker | Wyre Forest District Council (wyreforestdc.gov.uk). There is also a section where you can let them know how your pick went, filling in this is easy and they may do a social post on their platforms about your achievements, this always is great for promoting scouting in a community.
