As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, Scouting gives over 460,000 young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
Scouting in Wyre Forest is welcoming more and more young people every year, and the reasons for this aren’t difficult to understand.
Scouting offers more than 200 different activities, and more people do adventurous activities in Scouts than with any other organisation. Locally, at a centre near you, we offer young people, both boys and girls, the opportunity to discover their potential through challenges and positive experiences that will enrich their lives.
As the Chief Scout, says, ‘Two things matter in life: following your dreams and looking after your friends. That’s what I love about Scouting, it’s about doing great things, loving and enjoying the great adventures, and helping others to do the same’.
There are now 17 Scout Groups in Wyre Forest, providing age appropriate activities and challenges to boys and girls aged 4 to 14, as well as 6 Explorer Scout Units for young adults over 14, all run by teams of dedicated adult leaders who are vetted and trained to the Scout Association’s high standards.
